Road America Not as Good as Crozier Roberson Motorsports Had Hoped

Elkhart Lake, Wis…Although Road America proved to be a somewhat better event for the Crozier Roberson Motorsports/DNA Energy Drink team, it still didn’t yield the results that they were hoping for.

Flying the DNA Energy Drink banner, Bobby Fong and Michael Beck finished both AMA Pro Daytona SportBike events and gained some points, but they were both disappointed with the results.

“We know we can do better,” said Beck who scored an 11th and 13th place finish.  “The weather conditions at Road America were not the best on Saturday.  It drizzled on part of the track during Saturday’s race and we were running in the wet and dry which makes racing difficult, especially if you are not used to racing in those conditions.”

Bobby Fong scored and 18th on Saturday and then a 10th on Sunday, keeping him in 10th  place in the point’s battle.

“Our goal was to finish and we definitely did that,” said Fong.  “But winning is what racing is all about and I am definitely hungry to get on that podium.  Hopefully all the bad luck is behind us and Mid-Ohio will be our turning point.”

“Bobby rode an incredible race on Sunday,” says team manager Mark Crozier.  He powered off the startline and by the fourth lap, he had moved into the lead.   “Unfortunately one of the crew guys made a mistake and topped off the gas on the grid after the warm up lap.  It resulted in a penalty and Bobby had to pull through the pits losing him his first place slot.  He went back out and did a great job moving through the field to finish 10th.  We are all very proud of him.”

“Bobby definitely showed off his ability about his DNA Energy Drink Ducati,” adds co-team owner Robbie Roberson.  “There is no doubt as to his riding skill and I don’t think it will be long before he is on the podium.”

For AMA Pro SuperSport West point leader Joey Pascarella and his DNA Energy Ducati it was a tough weekend.  Pulling off the Startline in 11th place, Pascarella immediately began to make his way up through the field.  However, moving up further was not to be as he crashed.  Getting back on the bike, Pascarella rebounded to finish 15th.  Unfortunately, after careful consideration, the team decided that his Ducati was not safe to ride and they retired it for the weekend.

“I was really bummed,” said Pascarella. The one lucky thing is that I still have a big margin in the point’s battle and we will definitely be back in full force at the next race at Mid-Ohio in July.”

“Luck definitely hasn’t been on our side lately,” adds Crozier. “I figure we have had enough bad luck to last us the rest of the season and we are all determined that things are going to go up from now on. We’ve got the crew, we’ve got the riders and we’ve got the machinery.  All we need is some luck.”
