Survivors Aim to Share Passion and Raise Funds during Nine Day West Coast Ride

MILWAUKEE (October 7, 2009) – On Friday, 32 female breast cancer survivors from the United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada and Australia, departed Marina De Rey on a 900-mile, 9-day motorcycle journey up the famed Pacific Coast Highway to prove that breast cancer can’t defeat the human spirit.  Dubbed Amazon Heart Thunder, the fifth anniversary of the ride also challenges the participants to raise funds for breast cancer charities and as of today, they’ve raised $63,000.  Harley-Davidson Motor Company has been a proud sponsor every year.  The ANABD (American National Association for Bikers with a Disability) was set up in the United States in January 2009 by one woman who has dedicated her retired life to helping disabled bikers get back on the road. The idea that disabled people cannot ride motorcycles, scooters or trikes is unacceptable. Read more…
