Benefit for CW2 Romy Carmargo

Photo Robert M. Scott

Romulo “Romy” Carmargo came to Citrus County in the third grade, and after graduating from Crystal River High School in 1993 enlisted in the U.S. Army. The Army way of l ife suited Romy so he became a career soldier (14 years). After 6 years in the Army his career path led him to endure the rigors of Special Forces training to become a Green Beret. While on patrol in Afghanistan CW2 Carmargo was shot in the neck and currently paralyzed.
The City of Crystal River does not forget its own … on September 12, 2009 CW2 Romulo Carmargo received a hero’s welcome and a key to the city from Mayor Ron Kitchen. The following photos display a man who faces daily adversity, and yet beams with honor and pride while dealing with his life changing injury.

The LAMA Tampa chapter and Born To Ride invite you to join Romy, his family and friends to the Wild Wing Café (9210 Anderson Road Tampa, FL) on Saturday, November 28, for a benefit party. It’s our turn to honor one of the many American heroes’ who have made sacrifices so we can live the way we do. For more information contact Johnny at 813-299-4482.
