On August 20, 2009, Harley-Davidson Museum Director Stacy Watson christened the Milwaukee Fire Department’s new fireboat, Trident, in a dramatic waterfront display at the Harley-Davidson Museum.
A 39-foot, welded-aluminum hull vessel manufactured by Metal Craft Marine, Inc., the Trident is powered by a pair of Cummins diesel engines delivering 540 hp each to the boat’s jet drives. With two 1750 gal/min pumps and a built-in foam tank, the Trident is capable of a 5000 gal/min fire flow to five deck and roof monitors and two handlines.

The battle for the 2009 FIM World Championship was blown wide open on Sunday at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix as Jorge Lorenzo scored a great win and his Fiat Yamaha colleague Valentino Rossi suffered his first DNF of the year.
Lorenzo eventually crossed the line with a 9.5s winning margin to cut Rossi’s championship lead in half, as the deficit dropped from 50 to 25 points, with five races remaining.
Behind Lorenzo there was a great ride from San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Alex de Angelis who did his quest to remain in MotoGP no harm at all in second place, gaining his first ever premier class podium from fourth on the grid.

NEW DELHI (August 27, 2009) – Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) announced today its plans to formally enter the motorcycle market in India, where it expects to start selling its iconic motorcycles in 2010. The company has established a subsidiary to be located in Gurgaon, near Delhi, and has begun the process of seeking dealers.
Harley-Davidson Motor Company President and Chief Operating Officer, Matthew Levatich, is an invited speaker at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers annual convention on August 28, and will provide further details on the company’s plans then.
