Brad Ruel, from The Wrench passes away
Brad Ruel 43, international custom bike builder from Brandon, FL passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, July 14, 2009. He will be missed by all who knew him. Ron Galletti owner of Born To Ride, Tampa, FL says, “Brad was one of the good guys in our industry! He was a first class nice person to all he met or did business with. He was self made from hard work and he turned into a pro International Custom Bike Builder that designed and fabricated one of the best motorcycle frames in the business. He was voted most popular builder on the TV series Metric Revolution Bike Build Off. His work ethic was non stop and he was on the road across the country at many bike events every week. I remember one day many years ago when Brad talked to me about starting a motorcycle shop and wanted my input. At the time he was a motocross racer who was doing very well. Not long after that The Wrench was born and Brad never stopped working on his dream. I actually bought Brad’s very first custom bike build in 1992 and still own the bike today. Brad you left us all way too soon and you will be missed by all who knew you and loved you. Our prayers and thoughts go out to your wife Karen and family.”

On Wings and a Prayer ~
On behalf of the Wharf Rat Rally Motorcycle Association, I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Karen Ruel on the death of her beloved husband Brad on Tuesday, July 14th. We had the pleasure of having Brad attend our rally last year and were very much looking forward to his return visit in September.
He know he will be deeply missed by all who knew him and I am honoured to have been able to call him a friend. Rest in peace Brad, ride safe.
We met Brad last year at the Wharf Rat Rally and became fast friends. Our son Tyler, had the experience of a lifetime to have apprenticed with Brad in his shop for 3 months this past spring. Tyler had just returned to Florida to work with Brad 3 days prior to his death and needless to say he was devastated. Brad was a great friend, a wonderful role model for our son, a dedicated husband and a truly talented individual. Words cannot express how sorry we are for the loss of Brad, as a friend, as a family man, as a gifted bike builder – the world will not be the same! Our hearts and prayers go out to Karen and the family at this time.
We will miss you more than you will know Brad!
